Special Deuel County Commissioner Meeting

The Deuel County Commissioners met on the above date with the following officials present: Chairman of the Board Ben Carlson, Commissioner Clint Bailey, Commissioner Larry Kenney, County Attorney Doug Palik and County Clerk Polly Olson. The purpose of the meeting was to approve the Blue Cross Blue Shield Sub Group Application. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Reference was made to the Open Meeting Laws posted at the entrance to the meeting room. The agenda was approved motion of Commissioner Bailey, second of Commissioner Kenney. Carlson, aye, Kenney, aye, Bailey, aye.

Discussion was held regarding the 8% increase in the insurance rates. The County currently offers to pay single insurance coverage $1,500.00 deductible with a $1,000.00 buy back. The current rates are $552.68. This year the rates will be $596.89 with the plan the County currently offers. Upon motion of Commissioner Carlson, second of Commissioner Kenney, Resolution 2010-7, the BCBS subgroup application continuing coverage at the same deductible rate as last year, ($1,500.00 with a $1,000.00 buy back administered through Mid American Benefits) was approved. Bailey, aye, Carlson, aye, Kenney, aye. The dental (PPO Coverage A/B) insurance will be offered at the employee’s expense.

There being no further business, the board adjourned at 10:00a.m. The next regular meeting of the board will be Monday, June 7, 2010 at 8:30 a.m.
